Therapy for

Dating and Relationships

Do your relationships keep circling back to the same place?

Are you craving connection, but opening up feels terrifying?
Do you keep landing in the same relationship patterns you swore you'd left behind?
Do you find yourself chasing validation from everyone but yourself?

Maybe you're the one who always shows up for friends and family, but rarely gets the same care back. Maybe you say yes when every part of you wants to say no, or you're quietly worn out from giving more than you receive. Maybe dating stirs up anxiety, and an old breakup is still shaping what happens next.

None of this means something is wrong with you. Patterns form for a reason, often to protect us. Together, we'll find the patterns, name what's happening, explore where they came from, and figure out what you want to do differently.

When the same questions, reactions, and patterns keep showing up in your relationships, it's usually psyche's way of saying: look here.

I specialize in helping people untangle the relationship patterns that keep them stuck, so they can show up in love, friendship, and life as their whole selves.

Clients Come to Me When:

  • They keep repeating the same relationship pattern

  • Dating brings up anxiety, or they're avoiding it altogether

  • A past breakup still stings

  • Friendships feel rocky or one-sided

  • They say yes when they want to say no

  • They often feel taken advantage of

  • They're giving more than they receive

  • They feel behind their friends

  • Things with a manager or coworker keep getting tense

  • They just feel stuck

Dating and Relationship Therapy with Me

I take an active, relational approach. I won't just sit there and nod. I'll get curious, ask real questions, and gently point out what I'm noticing, even early on. You steer, and I'll be right there in your corner.

We start by looking closely at what actually happens in your relationships: the moments you shut down, people-please, pull away, or chase. We'll name the pattern and trace its roots in your family and past relationships, including your relationship with yourself.

Then we practice. We try out new ways of showing up in session, and you test-drive them in your day-to-day life. This is where insight meets real life: the text you finally send, the boundary you finally hold, the trigger you notice before it takes over.

Modalities We May Use

Attachment-Focused EMDR
Works with old relationship experiences so they have less of a grip on your relationships today.

Attachment Theory
Explores how early relationships shaped what you expect from others, and how that shows up in the way you love and connect now.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Helps you get to know the different parts of you, like the people-pleaser or the one who keeps everyone at arm's length, and what they're trying to protect.

Depth Psychology
Looks at both conscious and unconscious patterns, including dreams and your personal story, to understand why familiar dynamics keep returning.

Somatic Work
Brings attention to what happens in your body during charged moments, so you can catch a trigger and respond differently.

Where This Work Can Lead…

  • Stronger self-worth

  • Closer, more connected relationships

  • Setting and holding boundaries without as much guilt

  • More confidence and ease in dating

  • Less anxiety and spiraling

  • Feeling less triggered

  • More balanced relationships at work

  • Breaking patterns that once felt automatic

The goal is to help you recognize the pattern as it's happening, and choose something different.

"Change starts with understanding what shaped the pattern, then practicing a new way of showing up."

Practice a Different Way of Showing Up

You don't have to keep falling back on old patterns just because they're familiar. Once you understand what shaped them, you get more choice in what happens next, and room for relationships that feel more like you.

Hi, I’m Caroline.

Connection is at the heart of everything I do. In our work together, we'll look at how your history, your family, your romantic relationships, and your relationship with yourself all connect to what's happening now.

Clients describe me as warm and open-hearted, and I'm also direct. I'll ask thoughtful questions and gently challenge the patterns that leave you feeling anxious or stuck, while you always know I'm on your side. Together, we'll work toward more clarity, stronger boundaries, and a deeper trust in yourself.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than ten years at a New York startup and a global e-commerce company. I know firsthand the pressure of work, relationships, boundaries, and big life transitions, because I've lived them.

Outside the therapy room, you'll find me with a book, biking or walking around the Minneapolis lakes, trying new restaurants, or spending time with my family.

If you're ready to take the first step, let's connect.

Availability: I provide in-person therapy in the twin cites, and virtual therapy via telehealth across Minnesota and New York state.
